For a car released in 1961, the power was also unheard of. There were four wheel disc brakes, which was only found on race cars at the time, a duplicate overhead cam engine, and fully independent rear suspension. This was the last series of the E-type, as the Jaguar Xj-S attempted to replace the car in 1975. Most can agree that the car did not pass the legendary status of the Jaguar E-type.
